Come Taste A Wee Dram – It’s All Part Of The Experience

Summary

As part of Scottish Tourism Week in March, licensees all over Scotland are invited to attend The Scotch Whisky Experience in Edinburgh for a taster session to pick up tips on serving, selling and up-selling whisky.

The event is being organised and hosted jointly by The Scotch Whisky Experience, BII Scotland and The Scottish Tourism Forum and takes place on Thursday 4th March 2010. Knowledgeable staff will take attendees through the best steps to serving, selling and up-selling whisky, which they can then take back to their own establishments.

These steps form the basis of the Scotch Whisky Training School course, which was developed by experts at The Scotch Whisky Experience to provide a generic training package giving an appreciation for all brands and categories of Scotch. The course results in a ‘Certificate of Expertise’, which is recognised throughout the industry.

Tickets for the taster session are just £10 and this is redeemable against the cost of any course booked on the day. The Training School one day course is priced at £160 per person and covers topics including the art of blending, Scotch versus ‘the best of the rest’ and sensory perception. The price also includes lunch in the award-winning Amber Restaurant.

The taster event will start at 2pm with registration from 1.30pm at The Scotch Whisky Experience, 354 Castlehill, The Royal Mile, Edinburgh EH1 2NE. To reserve a place, email invite@scotchwhiskyexperience.co.uk by Friday 19th February 2010 or for further information call 0131 220 0441.
